Hotel La Lucertola

Amazing location just 5 minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the main centre. Room had a balcony with full sea view mainly looking to the port area. Very clean with fridge and tv with some English channels. Good AC. Wonderful restaurant over looking the sea which served a beautiful dinner and breakfast. Staff all very friendly and helpful with perfect English. Felt really safe. Easy to get to by taxi from Salerno (however taxis expensive at £40).

AMAZING!!! You sit on the terrasse of your room that hangs over the ocean and you feel like you are floating over the sea. It was so unique. The nearby harbour is an endless spectacle, but no noise comes across at all. It is like a silent movie. At night the sound of the waves is like a cradle song. Parking is available and the staff is very helpful in moving cars around. The staff in gerenral was TOP in every way. Food was excellent, always fresh and abundant. The little town of Vietri sul Mare is a great place to stay if one wants to explore the Amalfi Coast. VIVA ITALIA!!!

Great place at the other, less famous end of the Amalfi. A beautiful room with a gorgeous balcony. Only about 10 min walk to public beach and 15 to the old town. Great staff. Parking right there. Very easy. We were not put off by other bad reviews and we were glad we weren’t.

The location of this hotel is spectacular. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea. It was so lovely to sit in bed and listen to the waves roll in. It's just a short walk downhill to the cute town. They have parking too which is so helpful. The staff was incredibly nice. We ate breakfast every morning in the restaurant and it was very complete with eggs, pastries and such. We ate dinner in the restaurant one night and it was really good. I had a local fish in acquapazza and it was delicious! Highly recommend this hotel and location!! Vietri sul Mare is lovely!

We used the hotel lucertola as a stopover on our way south and it was worth every penny just for the view. As it was out of season, the restaurant was not open, but there are many places to eat in the town, we even found a sushi restaurant!! (which was very good), but be warned and this may be obvious because the town is built on a cliff there are many steps, although most of the slopes of the roads are quite gentle. The hotel staff we found very friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable with a balcony with a fantastic view of the gulf of Salerno. Breakfast was very good in the panoramic restaurant. Vietri sul Mare is away from the area around the town of Amalfi near to Salerno - which is worth a visit - and convenient for the autoroute if travelling by car.
